How to Earn Money with Telegram

How to Earn Money with Telegram

In today’s article, I will talk about how to monetize your groups and channels inside Telegram and start to generate passive revenue via multiple methods. There are four major ways to profit using Telegram and it’s broken down into advertisements, selling or creating bots & mini apps, flipping, and freelance – the latter three all require money or skillsets to get started so we are going to start most common and easy method which is adverts.

Pay in mind that Quality content is always king whether you are developing a game or running a Telegram-based channel. Creating bots and mini-apps is totally different ball game and I recommend joining the official Telegram chat for developers to get more technical help regarding coding and running stuff with their technology.

Displaying Advertisements on your Telegram Channel, App & Group

As some of you already know Telegram has two types of chats you can create you have “groups” and then you have “channels” which both can be monetized in their own way. Channels function mostly for updates, news, and other types of content that people want to view & share so quality takes big focus here.

Every channel that has 1,000 followers/subscribers will be monetized automatically by Telegram Native ads and you will be receiving 50% of the ad revenue generated, if you have enough boosts on the channel (Level 50) you can turn off the ads for your users. So let’s break down a couple of these ad platforms that can help you generate money.

  • Telegram Ads – This is the native advertising platform for Telegram which only displays ads in the form of groups/channels, so you’re unable to see ads that take you to external websites which makes the Telegram model quite unique, the payments are made in Toncoin which are withdrawable after you have received 10 TON, which can take a long time if you are a small channel. When you are getting started with your Telegram channel, you might want to consider advertising here to get some real subscribers to your channel. Note; that these ads will not show in your group so you’re only making money via channels through these native telegram ads.
  • Telega – A Great Alternative option is Telega, because they support both Groups and channels in their advertising catalog which consists of posting adverts manually after accepting a request on their site what I like about their service is that they pay pretty well in terms of CPM and multiple different discount and boost options they have that give both the advertisers and publishers lot of flexibility including crypto & non-crypto payment methods. It goes without saying you can use both Telegram Ads and Telega together!
  • Collaborator – Another Ad platform option for telegram channels, unlike telega these guys do not support adverts for groups, but they also have website integrations available which is another revenue source you can look into.
  • AdsGram – If you own a Telegram App (also known as a mini app) you can use this service to deploy ads inside these applications and make good returns for doing so It is quite an automated process, so long as you have the traffic coming through you can expect consistent cashflow through this.

To recap you can make a decent amount of money with manual ads on your channel whilst getting Automatic ads coming through native telegram ads, however with native ads they don’t show that often since the advertisers need to know that your channel exists, this is why I really recommend submitting your channel to Telegram databases like TGStat, TelemetrioTelegramChannels for more exposure & subscribers.

Flipping or Selling Telegram Groups & Channels

As with any other social network, there are people interested in buying existing groups and channels for whatever reason and there are multiple marketplaces where you can start selling your own groups and channels if you no longer are interested in running them or you’re just simply there to build and sell this stuff. Also, this is not against ToS far as I know so you are all good doing this, just make sure to scout price properly and use middlemen.

  • Acs-market – You can buy & sell with an escrow service on this website and it seems they are only currently selling channels and not groups.
  • Fragment – On this site, you can sell telegram usernames for Toncoin and these usernames act as links to accounts so they can be considered forms of domains inside the ecosystem some names are making insane amounts of money.

Making money with Telegram BOTS & Miniapps

Lastly, there are of course Bots & Miniapps which are core parts of what makes Telegram great, but this is not something that anybody just can do, but if you have the skillset you do have a couple of different avenues to profit by creating bots and mini-apps inside telegram. I already mentioned that you can leverage things like Adsgram for dropping ads on your mini-app, but you can also tap into doing paid transactions on Toncoin’s blockchain, whatever that’s a booster inside a game or in-game item or something else entirely – seeing many crypto applications making decent returns with this strategy.

After you have created a BOT or Mini-app you could potentially sell the source codes or support service for them at the following marketplaces!

  • Fiverr – Lot of demand for Miniapps and bots in here, perhaps a bit cheaper pricing in general is expected but if you want to move large amounts of volume I think Fiverr is a good option.
  • CodeCanyon – Another premium marketplace that specializes in selling codes that are actually vetted by the official service, which builds more trust for consumers buying through this marketplace.

It goes without saying that another source of revenue is just pure traffic driving to your existing business or brand as telegram is a huge platform and there are many people using it for news and general info about things in crypto especially.
