Guide to Selling AI Generated Videos & Clips

Guide to Selling AI Generated Videos & Clips

Previously I have discussed Selling AI Images at stock sites and this time we will do the same, but emphasize Video clips instead. When it comes to AI video it’s still as its infancy and websites will have different vetting processes for them or may not have a stance yet, which might affect whether your upload can be sold or not.

First, you have to prompt your actual videos and remember that if they have watermarks you can’t sell them. Some good platforms that I recommend right now are as follows

  • InVideo (Another excellent choice who want to different style of videos)
  • Fliki AI (Affordable and has a lot of variables in terms of options for prompts)
  • Runway ML (expensive but high quality)
  • Kling AI (Very good Picture to Video quality and better end results with Pro version)
  • Sora (Not released yet, but I believe it’s going to be one of the more important ones)
  • PikaLabs (A bit distorted stuff, but with enough tries it does create something decent)

You can learn more about AI Video Generator sites in my previous blog post from a while back if you are interested – but let’s now focus on the selling part now that we have the generation/prompting mastered.

Where to Sell AI Videos?

Let’s start digging into the list of potential platforms that currently are accepting video uploads for stock content that will be used in movies, documentaries, and other types of creative projects. Note; Some sites will have a more thorough application process which will require portfolios and other key details before they accept you.

First up on the list we have Vecteezy which specializes in vectors, photos, and also Video uploads – in all these categories they are currently accepting AI uploads you just need to flag them as such when filling in the information. They have perhaps a bit more filtered line of content they want to see, so doing something super abstract Art may not be something they are interested in.

Adobe Stock has dominated quite some time the stock image market and they got also sizeable Video portfolio as well, but the negative news is that incredibly slow review times when it comes to video content especially since those might be reviewed by humans instead of a machine (So manual process) that being said Adobe pays extremely well compared to the competition so that’s something you want to also think about.

  • Review time: Very Long (Over 3 months even)
  • Video Requirements: Minimum resolution 720p and format has to be MOV, MP4, MPEG, or AVI (5-second duration minimum)
  • Payment Minimum: 25$
  • Website: https://stock.adobe.com/

Wirestock is an aggregator website for videos and photos, currently, you need a subscription to their service so you can upload stuff to their platform. The core concept of their platform is kinda nice, but they lack transparency on sales and general data under which names the content is being published on and where.

This platform ultimately requires a bit of an investment and also has upload limits that you have to consider before committing with them, however, if you want to sell directly at their own platform that doesn’t cost anything, but does have really no real big traffic.

  • Review time: Short (Roughly a week)
  • Video Requirements: Some requirements on whether you can use real people or not
  • Payment Minimum: 30$
  • Website: https://wirestock.io?ref=esoteric

If you like to have freedom over setting up prices for your AI stock videos then Pond5 may be a great option for you, this platform specializes on Audio & Video content alongside stuff for After Effects and even PSD files for Adobe fans out there.

They don’t especially say anything about AI content on their guidelines but I have managed to upload content that is AI Generated in their platform. There is also an option for FTP-based uploads for old geeks out there.

  • Review time: Within 24h usually
  • Video Requirements: Some requirements on whether you can use real people or not
  • Payment Minimum: 25$
  • Website: https://www.pond5.com/
